SAA Council Reviews Strategic Plan, Sections Structure, Annual Reports

November 10, 2022—At its November 1, 3, 2022, virtual meeting, the SAA Council:

  • Discussed a comprehensive timeline for planning and implementing changes to the current Section structure, including conducting an all-member survey on Section engagement and priorities. The Council will next seek broad feedback through dedicated discussions on section structures – all members are strongly encouraged to share their input!  (V.B.)

  • Reviewed the SAA Strategic Plan, with focus on activities designated for fiscal years 2022 and 2023; the president, vice president, and executive director will determine “lead coordinators” for each task and Council liaisons will connect with their groups accordingly. (III.B.)

  • Responded to a proposal from the Standards Committee to seek grants to support long-term development of SAA standards, noting critical questions for the committee to consider as they continue to research possibilities. (V.C.)

  • Reviewed annual reports from appointed groups, section steering committees, and staff. Members are encouraged to read these reports, as they contain a great deal of information about SAA’s activities and functions.  (VI.A.-VI.T.)
