About the Labor Archives Section
The Labor Archives Section serves as a vital hub for collaboration and advocacy within the archival community. Our mission is threefold:
- To connect archivists, labor organizations, researchers, and institutions dedicated to labor records.
- To advocate for the preservation of and access to the records of working people, the labor movement, and intersecting social justice movements.
- To develop cooperative strategies and professional guidelines for the comprehensive documentation of labor history.
We advance this mission through year-round communication, resource sharing, and our flagship event: the Annual Business Meeting & Forum at the SAA conference. This meeting is our primary gathering for members to network, share challenges, and strategize on fulfilling our collective goals.
