SAA Election 2026

Fourteen candidates are competing for three key leadership positions in the Society of American Archivists' 2026 election (see details on the right). Your vote helps shape the future of SAA—don’t miss this opportunity to participate!

  • Vice President/President-Elect: The elected candidate will serve a one-year term as Vice President starting in August 2026 before becoming SAA’s 82nd President for the 2027–2028 term.
  • Council Members: Three seats are open on the SAA Council, with elected individuals serving three-year terms from August 2026 through the 2029 Annual Meeting.
  • Nominating Committee: Three candidates will be elected to serve one-year terms on the 2027 Nominating Committee, beginning immediately after the election.

The 2026 Nominating Committee—Kelley Hummingbird (Chair), Melissa Stoner, Steve Duckworth, and Council members Alison Clemens and Ricardo Punzalan—developed insightful questions to help candidates share their perspectives. Each candidate has also provided a diversity statement in accordance with SAA guidelines.
