Call for Internship Directory Listings

The Society of American Archivists is committed to providing the best services and resources to our members at every stage of their careers. To better serve our aspiring archivists and students, we would like to publish an online directory of archival internships.

If you offer one or more internship opportunities for new archivists and/or archives students, we’d like to hear from you! And because those searching for summer positions are already on the lookout, we’d like to populate SAA’s new directory as soon as possible.

Please direct all internship postings/listings to Felicia Owens at fowens@archivists.org. In your response, send a link to your internship posting and/or include the following information:

  • Institution Name
  • Contact Person (for the internship)
  • Address, Phone, and Email
  • Website Link
  • Position Title
  • Start/End Dates
  • Hours per Week
  • Compensation (Hourly, Stipend, Educational Credit, None)*
  • Brief Description of Position and Responsibilities
  • Required Skills or Experience
  • How to Apply

Please note: SAA does not endorse any internships outside of those offered in our office. SAA does, however, promote and encourage all institutions to provide compensation to interns in the form of a stipend or education credit. For more information, see SAA’s Best Practices for Internships as a Component of Graduate Archival Education.

Questions or concerns? Contact Felicia Owens at fowens@archivists.org or 866-722-7858.

We look forward to sharing your internship opportunity with our student members!
