Marriott International Corporate Archives at Marriott International Global Headquarters.

Marriott International traces its origins back to a small A&W root beer stand franchise called The Hot Shoppes, which opened its door at 14th & Kenyon in DC in 1927. Today, the company operates and franchises 17 unique brands in 77 countries and territories with a combined total of more than 4000 properties. Its Corporate Archives opened its door in January 2011, bringing together both family and corporate materials dating back to the early 1900s totally about 1000 cubic feet collection materials.

Beth Schuster will lead the group through the headquarters sharing some of the ways the company uses its history to inspire associates, with special stops in the Innovation Lab and the Test Kitchen, and the Executive Offices, concluding in the Corporate Archives.

From 1-4 Tuesday, the Archives will be open for an informal open house.

Breakfast, lunch and snacks are available in the corporate cafeteria.
