Share Your Archives during #AskAnArchivist Day 2026!

#AskAnArchivist Day takes place this year on October 14, and SAA wants your help to celebrate archives across the country and around the world!

We're asking for something a little different this year. Instead of your most interesting artifact, this year we're asking archives and repositories to share their most underrated piece. A letter between a parent and child no one but you has seen. A fascinating but underused photo. An early draft of a scientific paper. How you evaluate it is up to you—we just look forward to sharing it!

Between now and October 12, send a high-resolution photo (300 PPI) and a caption (no more than 2,000 characters) to SAA Communications Manager Julia Pillard (jpillard@archivists.org) for a chance to be featured on SAA's social media. Let us know the name of your archives and its Instagram handle (if it has one) so we can tag you. Please be sure to have permission to share the object/photo before sending!
