virtual record

n.ComputingA collection of related fields that are treated as a unit but assembled from various sources.

Notes

A virtual record is not a single object, but drawn from many sources. The virtual record of an invoice may draw information about the purchaser, merchandise, and prices from many different tables. To be reliable as a record, it must be possible to reconstruct a virtual record over time without change. For instance, if the price of an item changes, its price on a previously issued invoice must remain the same.
