vesicular film

n.ReformattingA duplicating film made with light-sensitive diazonium salts suspended in a thermoplastic base and developed with heat.

Notes

When the film is exposed, the diazonium salts release nitrogen. When exposed to heat, the nitrogen expands to form bubbles (vesicles) in the film. Vesicular film usually creates a negative image.
