roll film

n. PhotographyA strip of plastic, coated with a light-sensitive emulsion, that is significantly longer than it is wide and that is intended to hold several images side by side in a single row.

Notes

Roll film is distinguished from sheet film, which usually holds a single image. After processing, roll film often is cut into flat strips for storage. Film generally refers to undeveloped materials; once the images have been developed, they are often called negatives, transparencies, or slides.
