n. ~ Equipment that enlarges microfilm images so that they can be easily viewed and that has the ability to make hardcopy prints of the images.

Notes: 

Reader-printers can produce copies in normal room light without a darkroom. Early reader-printers used a photographic process, but most reader-printers now use an electrostatic process. Some modern reader-printers incorporate scanners that create a digital copy.
