n. ~ 1. Transparent film containing highly reduced copies of documents. - 2. High-resolution, low-grain film used make such copies.

Notes: 

Microfilm1 may be in rolls, sheets (microfiche), strips (usually in jackets), or chips (usually in aperture cards). Standard widths of roll film include 35 mm and 16 mm. Microfilm may use gelatin silver, diazo, or vesicular processes to form the images.
