emboss

Relationships

v. ~ The process of creating a raised design on a surface.

Notes:

The design created by embossing is called an embossment. Blind embossing does not use color, and the design is the same color as the background. Embossing may incorporate ink, foil, or other color to further distinguish the raised design from the background, but the term alone - without the modifier 'blind' - does not connote such color.
