disk

(also disc), n. ~ 1. A very short cylinder; a platter. - 2. Computing · A computer device used to store and retrieve data, especially the disk itself apart from any associated hardware. - 3. Sound recordings · A phonograph record.

Notes: 

The spelling 'disc' is used in some formats and tradenames, including LaserDisc and Compact Disc. Computer disks include hard drives (hard disks), floppy disks, optical disks, and compact discs.
