data set

(also dataset), n. ~ A collection of related information, especially information formatted for analysis by a computer.

Often used synonymously with data file and database. The data is often related by being a sequence of information about a recurring event or conditions; for example, a collection of humidity and temperature readings at different points in a region taken at regular intervals over a period of time.
