color correction

n. The process of adjusting the hues and tones of an image so that it accurately reproduces those of the original subject.

Notes

Color correction is used in photography, including digital photography, motion pictures, video, and other media that reproduce images directly from nature. Variations in film, processing, lighting, and other conditions may cause colors in an image to be overly blue, yellow, or some other color. Adding blue to an image with an overall yellow cast can eliminate that color imbalance.
