chargeout

Relationships

n. ~ 1. A record of materials removed from storage for use. - 2. The process of removing materials for use.

Notes:

A chargeout makes it possible to track the individual to whom materials were given or where the materials have been moved, allowing them to be found if needed. The process can also be used as a record of who has used a file in the past. Forms documenting the chargeout are sometimes called out cards, reference retrieval slips, or pull strips.
