Cline Archival Consulting provides expertise to clients in a wide array of archival services including archival program evaluation; management, administration, and policy development; archival surveys and appraisal; preservation, security, and disaster planning; small facilities planning; outreach, exhibits, and public program planning; and strategic planning for small programs, especially municipalities and institutions.

Scott Cline has over 35 years of experience as an archivist, including three decades directing the Seattle Municipal Archives (SMA), a nationally recognized model for local government archives.  He is a Certified Archivist and a past president of the Academy of Certified Archivists.  He has also served on the governing Council of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) and is a member of the board of the SAA Foundation. Cline is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society of American Archivists and the recipient of many awards from archival and historical associations.

Cline is the founding archivist of the SMA and was responsible for directing all aspects of the program.  His leadership resulted in the successful merger of the Archives and the Seattle City Records Management Program and the Seattle Legislative Department’s Public Disclosure Program.  In addition, he oversaw development and implementation of a local 501(c)3 consortium that works with regional archives to digitize and preserve video in virtually all formats.
