Description: Lambda Archives of San Diego is dedicated to collecting, preserving and teaching San Diego’s rich Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) history. Lambda Archives primarily focuses on the history and activities of LGBT individuals and groups in San Diego County and northern Baja California, but also includes materials documenting LGBT culture globally, including one of the largest Pride collections in the world. Collections date from the 1800s, with most materials from 1970 to the present. Lambda Archives is one of the larger collections of LGBT history in the country, with more than 1,125 linear feet of collections. The archival inventory includes tens of thousands of historical items within personal, organizational, and business archival collections, fiction and non-fiction books, periodicals, photos, films, audio recordings, artifacts, original works of art, and ephemera.
