Susan Hamburger

Susan Hamburger is Manuscripts Cataloging Librarian at Pennsylvania State University Paterno Library.  She also held positions as Manuscripts Cataloger at Virginia Historical Society and at the University of Virginia; Archivist and Head, Description Section at the Virginia State Library and Archives; and Associate University Librarian at Florida State University. 

Hamburger holds a Ph.D. from Florida State University, an M.A. from Florida State, an MLS from Rutgers University, and an A.B. from Rutgers University.  

She’s a frequent conference presenter and developed and taught seminars and workshops.  Her latest publications include “How Researchers Search for Manuscript and Archival Collections.”  Journal of Archival Organization 2 and Architectural Records:  Arrangement Description, and Preservation.  Technical Leaflet No. 11.

Ms. Hamburger an active member of the Society of American Archivists and Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference.
