Michael Laird

Michael Laird is an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Austin (School of Information) where he teaches courses on Rare Books and Special Collections Librarianship. He is the principle rare book and manuscript appraiser for Gurr Johns (New York, NY) and the sole proprietor of Michael Laird Rare Books. He holds an MLIS degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Michael Laird developed the "Rare Books for Archivists" workshop for the SAA in 2009; he has conducted the workshop at the Harry Ransom Center (UT Austin), Tom L. Lee Library (BYU) and Beinecke Library (Yale University).
