Kyle Rimkus

Kyle Rimkus leads the department of Digital Scholarship and Programs at the University of Miami Libraries, where scholars, technologists, librarians, and archivists collaboratively explore creative applications of digital media and web technology to the future of research, teaching, and learning.  He also oversees collection development in French, German, and World Literature.  He joined the faculty of the University of Miami Libraries in 2007.

He has an M.S. in Library and Information Science and an M.A. in French Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a B.A. in Germanic Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  He was a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Vienna, and taught English at public schools in France.

His professional interests include digital project management and digital services for special collections and archives.  He has served, since 2008, on the Advisory Board of Opening Archives in Florida, a statewide effort to promote the adoption of archival standards and practices.  He is a member of the Society of American Archivists, for whom he serves as an instructor for workshops on digital archival management tools.
