Kathy Marquis

Kathy Marquis is currently Public Services Librarian (reference, public programs, and selection) at the Albany County Public Library in Laramie, Wyoming. Prior to this, she was the Head of Reference and Access Services at the Bentley Historical Library, University of Michigan, reference archivist at the Minnesota Historical Society, and Head of Reference at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Institute Archives and Special Collections. She has also worked at the Schlesinger Library at Radcliffe College.

Kathy has taught workshops on archival reference for the Midwest Archives Conference, New England Archivists, and as a visiting lecturer at Simmons College. She has presented papers at SAA, MAC, MARAC and NEA on reference and public service, outreach, and the status of archivists. She has also published reviews in the American Archivist and served on and chaired various SAA committees, including the program committee (2005 co-chair), nominating committee, Committee on the Status of Women, Public Information Committee and the Education Office Advisory Board. For the Midwest Archives Conference, she has served on the MAC Council and chaired the program committee and nominating committee.

She has an MSLIS from Simmons College and a B.A. in history from the University of Michigan.
