September 1, 2021—After receiving an overwhelming response to this year’s call for volunteers, SAA Vice President/President-Elect Courtney Chartier is pleased to announce the following appointments to SAA groups.
August 25, 2021—Ballots are now open for the remaining 2021 SAA section elections! Each section is led by a steering committee dedicated to advancing the group’s particular special interest. Now’s your chance to choose your sections’ next leaders!
SAA members who are eligible to vote in the remaining section elections can cast their votes online through Wednesday, September 8.
August 23, 2021—Hurricane Henri, though recently downgraded to a tropical depression, continues to move across the east coast, as those in middle Tennessee face the aftermath of severe flash flooding. Please share the following resources with any cultural institutions that may need help recovering:
August 10, 2021—The Society of American Archivists (SAA) appreciates the recent statement and apology from the American Historical Association (AHA) that was posted in the wake of its open letter to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). AHA’s statement provides greater context to the original letter and was written in response to an immediate outcry from archivists and historians.
August 5, 2021—A new blog post has been added to Off the Record, the SAA Leaders blog hosted by the SAA President.
