Elizabeth W. Adkins, CA


Elizabeth W. Adkins is director of Global Records and Information Management at CSC. She is an internationally recognized expert in archives and records and information management, with more than 20 years of experience leading programs in large, multinational companies. Her previous experience includes 12 years at Ford Motor Company, where she led the company's Global Information Management program, and 11 years at Kraft Foods, where she was manager of Archives Services.

Elizabeth is a Certified Archivist and a Certified Records Manager. She holds a B.A. in history from Binghamton (New York) University and an M.A. in history from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth has taken an active role in the leadership of the Society of American Archivists, including serving as treasurer from 2000 through 2003 and president from 2006 through 2007. She is the former chair of the SAA Business Archives Section, and has co-taught SAA's Business Archives Workshop since 1992. She is a past president of the Academy of Certified Archivists, serves on the Steering Committee of the Section on Business and Labour Archives of the International Council on Archives, and is a leader in ARMA International.

In 2002, Elizabeth was elected a Fellow of the Society of American Archivists. This permanent distinction is the highest honor that SAA can bestow on its individual members and is awarded for outstanding contributions to the archival profession. In 2006, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the Academy of Certified Archivists.
