History: The B. J. Budd Memorial Library and Archives was established at the Phoenix community center now known as 1N10, by Ms. Budd, a tireless LGBT activist who died in 1996. While 1N10 provided storage and reading space for the collections, the center was unable to professionally catalog and preserve the materials, and so the collection was donated to the Arizona State University Libraries in 2005. The donation was negotiated for 1N10 by Thomas Walker, a member of the 1N10 board and an employee of ASU from our Intergroup Relations Center.
