Notes

In printing, matrix1 generally means the thing that holds the ink to be transferred to the printed surface. For example, a matrix used to make a dye transfer print or Woodburytype is a shallow, three-dimensional relief formed in hardened gelatin. - A matrix2 can be used as a stamper to produce pressings or as a mother to produce a stamper.
