four-corners document

n.Writing, graphics, or other information that can be reasonably displayed on a two-dimensional surface.

Notes

'Four-corners document' is used to distinguish information formats that cannot be easily or meaningfully reduced to a sheet or sheets, such as paper or film. A motion picture is not considered a four-corners document; while it may be on a single - if very long - sheet, the sense of motion is not meaningfully recreated without special equipment. Three-dimensional visualizations in a geographic information system and dynamic, interactive systems are other examples of information that cannot be captured in a four-corners document.
