Compact Cassette

n. A standard format for magnetic audiotape measuring just under 4 × 2½ inches, with the tape measuring 0.15 inch on two hubs.

Notes

The Compact Cassette was introduced in 1962 by Philips and quickly became a de facto standard. Although used principally for audio recordings, the Compact Cassette was used by some early personal computers for data storage. Standard lengths are 60, 90, and 120 minutes.
