Notes

CSS version 1 became a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Recommendation in 1996. CSS2 became a W3C Recommendation in 1998. Although CSS can be used with extensible markup language (XML), it is generally used with HTML documents; Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) is superseding CSS for formatting XML documents.
